This weekend, The Laneway Project is hosting their annual Laneway Spring Clean-Up Drive, in coordination with Toronto’s Clean Toronto Together, to get our laneways off on the right foot for summer 2017.

Toronto’s 2400 laneways are often considered of little importance and thus are neglected. It’s time to realize the full potential behind these shared spaces; when planned and maintained effectively, they can be an integral and multi-purpose part of our public realm.

Kensington Market, Trinity Bellwoods, Brockton, Harbord Village, South Riverdale, Little India and Danforth East have all nominated their laneways for the program. To spruce up these communities, the Laneway Project will be delivering Spring Cleaning Kits that include paint and brushes, garbage and recycling bags, a Laneway Clean-Up Tip Sheet, plus coffee and snacks to fuel their efforts.

The Laneway Project takes place from April 22 to 23, 2017. Find more information here.
