Natalie Krill was born and raised in small town Saskatchewan. She has performed in 42nd St, Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story on Stage, Rookie Blue, Saving Hope, Flashpoint, Suits, Covert Affairs, Casino Jack and Hollywoodland. Anna Hopkins hails from Montreal. She has appeared in The Grand Seduction, Barney’s Version and Human Trafficking.  Most recently Natalie and Anna starred as wicked stepsisters in After The Ball, the retail fairytale set in the world of fashion.

SDTC: What spaces in Toronto do you find inspiring?

Natalie Krill: High Park and Riverdale Park on Broadview. Nature brings me peace. I can’t handle the noise and distractions of the city so taking time to hang out in these beautiful parks helps me connect to what’s important.

Anna Hopkins: The AGO – the building creates both intimate and vast spaces to experience the works on exhibit. I love being there.  That, or a dog park.

What aisle do you spend the most time in at the grocery store?

NK: Veggies and cheese.

AH: Olives! I always sample them too, even if they tell me not to.

Which virtue do you try to cultivate within yourself?

NK: Compassion.

AH: Honesty.

The receipts in your wallet would indicate what?

NK: I spend too much money.

AH: That I take too many taxis.

If you could reinvent your career and be something totally different, what would that be?

NK: Archeologist/Historian. I am addicted to history. I love learning about past cultures and trying to understand the mysteries of earth. It’s a passion of mine.

AH: Painter.

When you dream about travel, what place in the world comes to mind?

NK: Newgrange, Ireland. Just like Stonehenge, Newgrange has a fascinating structure that has been here for thousands of years. It dates back to pagan times and is said to hold secrets and an energetic field that is palpable. I’d love to go there to experience it for myself.

AH: Drinking and eating in Burgundy.

What makes you happy?

NK: Laughter

AH: A really good meal with friends.

What makes you cringe?

NK: Litter boxes

AH: Witnessing someone being embarrassed.

What quality do you loathe most in others?

NK: Greed

AH: I tend to not really loathe much, but I guess I find it frustrating when someone can’t find the ability to laugh at themselves.

What, in your opinion, is overrated?

NK: Fame.

How do you feel about life at this moment?

NK: Curious.

AH: That it’s strange.

What quality do you value most in a lover?

NK: Curiosity.

AH: Humour.

What is your favourite thing to do on a Saturday?

NK: Cuddle.

AH: Stay in bed.

What is your comfort food?

NK: French Fries.

AH: Poutine.

What word or phrase should we all use more?

NK: Anywhoodle.

AH: Puns should definitely be used more.

The world of fashion needs less of what?

NK: Sweatshops.
