Summer and Smoke

Tennessee Williams’ rarely-staged 20th-century masterpiece is on stage now at Crow’s Theatre. Summer and Smoke follows Alma Winemiller, a minister’s daughter who falls head over heels for John Buchanan, a reckless doctor who lives next door. As their longing for one another intensifies, desire, duty, and convention collide. What could happen if they gave into the passion? Blistering, poetic, and rapturous, this play blurs the line between passion and ruin. More info.
