Record Release Party Thursday May 8 @ WrongBar

By Robyn Sprott

There is something distinctive taking place in Toronto; a recognizable feeling of change is occurring within the airwaves.  No longer is the guitar and micro the omnipresent dictator but a more obnoxious and infectious sound is prevailing.  One that makes you want to shovel shit all the way to China and be happy like a smiling Buddha while doing so.

Two individuals contributing to this musically altered landscape make up the Toronto based duo Candy Coated Killahz.  Bridging the electro-hip hop gap with both style and grace, these purveyors of party mayhem have been brushing up their 80’s throwback aroma, deep bass intense beats, coupled with smooth and articulate rhymes to create an album of all around communicable dance floor fillers. It’s nothing yet everything you have ever heard before.

Catch Toronto’s own hip-hoppin’ electro darlings The Candy Coated Killahz live and grab a copy of their brand spankin’ new album “It Factor” (before it comes out in June) at the Official Album Release party going down this Thursday (May 8th) at Wrong Bar. It will indisputably be electrifying, refreshing and more than welcome…The new sound of Toronto.

“It Factor” will be available to download on iTunes, Amazon, etc. June 2008.
