December 14th-15th Parkdale Flea Indoor Christmas Market @ 1266 Queen St. W. Parkdale Flea is hosting a DOUBLE-DAY flea market with extended hours for the holiday season! Featuring local vendors selling crafts, vintage, cookies, handmade goods, clothing, furniture, antiques, and more – with different vendors each day. Runs Saturday from 1-midnight and Sunday from 10-6 pm. Admission is free!


9 pm Fear Street @ Sex Laser, 1369 Dundas St W. Horror/sci-fi movie scores/songs from soundtracks, or spooky/cool stuff every Wednesday. Maybe you’ll talk about movies. Maybe you’ll dance with some zombies. Maybe you’ll fall into the Hell Mouth. $3 PBR before 11pm.

7 pm “I’m No Wallflower: A Lisa Brown Respective” Opening Reception @ The Gladstone Hotel (2nd Floor), 1214 Queen St. W. “Lisa Brown was a Toronto-born, Paris and Berlin-based artist who passed away from cancer in 2001, at the age of 31. Working in the frenetic creative atmosphere of Berlin in the late 90s, Lisa’s signature drawing and painting style blends Modernist, Pop and street art influences with her own whimsical outlook and symbolism. In her short life, her insatiable appetite to create produced a prolific body of work, including a mural on the Berlin wall. ‘I’m No Wallflower: A Lisa Brown Retrospective’ is a celebration of Lisa’s life and work, and aims to evoke the vitality and creativity that defined the artist herself. This multimedia exhibition showcases over forty of the artist’s original pieces, many of which have not been seen publicly in over a decade.” Until 10 pm. Exhibition runs 12-5 pm daily until January 5th.

8 pm C Magazine 30th Anniversary Issue Launch @ Sex Laser, 1369 Dundas St. W. C Magazine celebrates their 30th anniversary with the launch of Issue 120/Winter 2014, which features a sharp redesign and the inclusion of several new sections. “Happy Birthday” performance by Regina the Gentlelady at 9:30 pm. DJ Paul Petro spins at 8 pm, DJ Luis Jacob at 10 pm. $3 PBR until 11 pm.

9 pm A Gothmas Fundraiser @ The Henhouse, 1532 Dundas St. W. Celebrate the year by going all goth (instead of the cliche ugly sweater crap) with lots of great music and great art! DJ sets by Alex Low, Adrienne.k, Brian Schirk. Art/projections/decorations by Mohammad Rexaei, Morris Hunter Fox, Laurie MacInroy, and Brandon A. Dalmer. There will be door prizes and lots of hot magic! 9 pm Holiday Party with Body Interface @ InterAccess, 9 Ossington Ave. Body Interface is a body positive, dance-focused social environment and monthly event currently hosted by Bambi’s. Started in 2012, current Body Interface members include Sebastian Butt, Laura McCoy and Cameron Lee, all of whom share a love of dance and electronic music and its subcultures. PWYC, with all proceeds supporting the arts centre.

11 am Toronto Etsy Street Team 1st Annual Christmas Marketplace @ Church of Saint Stephen-In-The-Fields, 103 Bellevue Ave. This cozy, intimate, handmade show will be filled with holiday magic! Along with Etsy’s handmade vendors, you can enjoy live music, take part in one of their FREE craft workshops, and even expect a visit from Old Saint Nick himself. The Marketplace will include a bake sale of tasty goodies and a charity raffle.
