The leisurely pace of summer has pretty much dwindled and many of us are now prioritizing our schedules with lecture times, paper deadlines, and full-time jobs. Finding a spot in our day planners to write ‘EAT FOOD’ is already be on the back burner, so a home cooked meal seems nothing short of luxury. But fueling ourselves properly is a vital part of our day, so what to do to keep healthy and on top of our game? SupperWorks!

With three locations in Toronto (one in Leaside; 105 Vanderhoof Ave, one in the Beaches; 1745 Queen St East, and one in Forest Hill, 497 Eglinton Ave. W.) SupperWorks give you a quick, easy and fun way to make meals that is cost and time effective. Show up, choose one or more of their great dishes and assemble them at a corresponding prep station. Each station has a step by step recipe to follow, with all ingredients washed, pre-chopped and ready to be measured  (measuring cups are already set up next to each ingredient- so helpful!).

SupperWorks has a great, friendly staff who take any intimidation out of cooking, and make sure you enjoy what little time you have. They tidy up your station and get you on your way, so you can have your creations in the oven and on the dinner table (or the freezer if you are saving it for a busier week) before most people are getting home from the grocery store. Just follow the cooking instructions they provide and enjoy that fresh, crispy Veggie Burrito or that tangy pan-seared haddock with remoulade sauce.

Each entree makes 4-6 servings, so whether you want to stock up on meals for the week, or take turns going to SupperWorks with your roommates, it is worth the time and the very reasonable price of less than $5 a serving.

My experience at SupperWorks was fantastic. Busy people gathering and bonding over food, getting 15 minutes of relief from their chaotic day and preparing not only a meal, but a half hour of that same relief to enjoy with family and friends at dinner time. Plus you get to wear a silky soft apron that leaves you feeling a bit like Martha Stewart. So lets all go to Supper Works and change the world! Okay, maybe not that much like Martha- let’s just go to Supper Works and make our lives easier.
