make your own bath salts

Supplies:

  • Mason jars/glass jars of any kind
  • Twine or ribbon
  • Sea salt (I prefer fine)
  • Epsom salts (plain is best so you can add your own scents)
  • Essential oils (you pick which scents you like best, I used lavender)
  • Food colouring (not a must, but does make it look a little more fun)

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl combine one cup of Epsom salts, one cup of sea salt, 5-10 drops of essential oil (start with fewer and add as needed) and a few drops (4-6) of food colouring to get your desired colour
  • Stir like crazy for about 5-8 minutes until all essential oil and food colouring is incredibly well blended
  • Add mixture to small jars and seal well
  • Tie labels (mine were just shapes cut out of plain white construction paper but you could do lots of fun things here) using twine to the outside of the small jars and indicate which scent you went with.
