I really enjoy jewellery that pushes the boundaries of where gold and silver should appear on the body, and what form it should take. This is perhaps why I am drawn Montreal’s Jane & Rye, a brand of jewellery design that chooses not to adhere to common motifs—or even common styles—of how a necklace or earring should behave.
Jane & Rye’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection teaser video, released this week, has me all up in a tizzle. Bright gold, wooden beads, chunky crosses, hoop earrings, dainty silver upper-thigh adornments(!!!)…these are what my jewellery dreams are made of!
While their Winter collection did, admittedly, give off certain biker and Wiccan vibes, Jane & Rye’s Spring/Summer pieces are still subtle enough for a regular girl, on a regular day, to pull off.
