Hot Humping/Hot Pink Fundraiser @ Playhouse
Tonight, Playhouse hosts a fundraiser for two very sexy Fringe Festival shows, Hot Pink & Dry Humping. Live music from Athena Holmes, Subject Object, Flora Poste, Marie Desneiges-Stockland, Elgin Skye and Commodore 84. Stand-up comedy by Mike Paterson, Jason Devine & Jessica Salomon, contemporary dance by Ulka Simone Mohanty & live body painting done by Melanie Ann Falnbigl.

Hiatus Vernissage @ The Long Haul
Hold everything! The Long Haul presents its 9th annual group show based on the theme “hiatus.”  Over 20 artists working in all media will exhibit their hiatus-inspired creations.
Vernissage takes place May 27 from 6pm-11pm. Show runs May 28 – 30 & June 4 – 6 from noon – 5pm.

Grimes, Cresting & Agor @ Divan Orange 
Thermal Times presents the first in a series of Divan Orange shows showcasing Arbutus Records talent. Grimes (aka Claire Boucher) draws on electronic and organic sounds to produce a “colorful goth-pop-noise medley.” Cresting’s dreamy, spare sound features “fuzzy gold melodies and overlapping rhythms.” Agor is the electric-guitar howler of local favorites Blue Hawaii, making a go of it on his own.

All Blizzarts’ monthly crews (Freedembass, the ESL Crew and Swing & Skip) unite to throw a “huge bass line potluck at yo’ smilin’ faces.” Special guest Archibald Singleton, local glitch hop producer extraordinaire. Also, mojitos!
