7pm. Jinchalo Book Launch @ Drawn & Quarterly, 211 Bernard Ouest. Join Montreal cartoonist Matt Forsythe for the launch of his new book Jinchalo. Jinchalo is a companion to the Doug Wright Award winning and Eisner nominated book Ojingogo. Forsythe’s illustration work has appeared in numerous publications including the Walrus and the Wall Street Journal. The first kids’ book he illustrated – My Name Is Elizabeth – was chosen as a New York Times Notable Book of the Year for Children.

7pm. Mews Official Launch @ Royal Phoenix, 5788 St-Laurent. After a successful pre-launch last month, Mews invites you back to the Royal Phoenix for a night of art, fashion, design and mayhem. Featuring tunes by DJ Zarfan, live art illustrations by Judyna Pres, graphic design by Anjela Freja and fashion by Pedram Karimi and Citizen Vintage co-styled by Montreal Street Fashion. No cover.

9pm. Doc Filah/Artists for Haiti III @ Les Bobards, 4328 St-Laurent. The third edition of Artists for Haiti, a collaboration with Social Justice Days organized by the Quebec Public Interest Research Group (QPIRG) at McGill University. Concert featuring celebrated Rap Kreyòl artist and activist Doc Filah and Paul Cargnello/Karma Atchykah. $8.

10pm. Cherry Cola + Roy Vucino @ Salon Officiel, 351 Roy Est. DJ Cherry Cola plays his first Montreal gig in over a year! Also with special guest Roy Vucino (aka Sexareenos), and host Mikey B Rishwain. No cover.

6pm. Razielle Aigen’s “Post America” Vernissage @ Citizen Vintage, 5330 St-Laurent. Montreal multi-media installation and collage artist Razielle Aigen’s most recent collage series and window installation at Citizen Vintage is inspired by cartography, America, and the dying art of post and letters. Friday’s vernissage features wine and a live performance by Adam Kinner. Prints and original collage work will be available for sale at Citizen Vintage during the vernissage and throughout the duration of the installation, which runs until March 12.

9pm. Max LL + Chemical Harvest @ Quai des Brumes4481 St-Denis. Local acts Max LL and Chemical Harvest play Quai des Brumes. $10.

10pm. Zeds Dead @ S. A. T., 1201 St-Laurent. Toronto producers Zeds Dead pull from a vast array of source material (Radiohead, The Rolling Stones, The Moody Blues, Sublime), and mould it into a unique brand of dance-floor classics. 8:30pm. When Comedy Sings @ Comedy Works, 1238 Bishop St. Montreal’s funniest comics sing their hearts out in a one-of-a-kind comedy show: When Comedy Sings. Comics Leighland Beckman, Mike Paterson, DeAnne Smith, Jake Freekin’ Smith and Guido Cocomello deliver the tunes while Eman and Jeff Schoula co-host. Admission $15.
