Dr. Martens has been an iconic brand that has shaped fashion for decades, and April 1st marks the 50th anniversary.

We loved the classic 1460 Dr. Marten boot back in grade nine (when we were listening to Nirvana and rebelling against authority) but we love it even more now!

What began as a boot for the working class was quickly adapted by mod culture, then punks, then grunge – and is now a staple in our wardrobe that can bring classic edge; day and night.

We’ve paired the 1460 cherry and black with some other trend-defying items for a cool look that can be worn any season.

Day: Distressed cut-off jean shorts from American Eagle, black and white striped tee from H&M or opt for the army green H&M tunic – both outfits go well with the 1460 in cherry or black
Night: Faster by Mark Fast knitted dress with a Rick Owens Blister leather Biker jacket and black 1460 Dr. Martens
Accessory: Bang Gun Charm necklace from Hoolala on Etsy adds a punky accent

… of course we threw in some emblematic albums for good measure.

Happy Birthday Dr. Martens!
