Drink beer, meet friends and spark a fire. Here are three activities that are making my summer better on the #bestcoast.

False Creek Raspberry Ale.
Pretty in Pink: the sadly-seasonal False Creek Raspberry Ale from Granville Island Brewing is a natural wonder, made with only three ingredients: malt, hops and actual local raspberries.   Perfect as a chill-out refreshment while kicking the sandals off the roof at sunset, this beer brings sweet-cool relief…but not too sweet – even my boyfriend likes it!

Electric Owl
Excellent drop-in spot – have a drink, and have a dance, catch a show, or even leave for your next destination with a little something from their liquor market.  The Electric Owl is a better version of how I imagine a real bar should look and feel like, with all the amenities of great seating, sound and ambiance.  Located on Main street near Chinatown, a place to kick-it with a crowd.

Weekend Excursions
Silver Skagit Road – Mapquest it and go there. This path, past the Silver Lake provincial park, is where the river runs closest to the road and you can find campsites ready with fire pit. Get there early because it is a valley, so the sun goes down quickly; venture farther down to the tip of Ross Lake where you can see, and sometimes cross, the Canadian-American border!
