The most gentlemanly of interviews. Michael Dellios and Steve Dagg treat me to more than a couple enchanting tales (read: neices on bike rides), some fond telememories (read: Jeff the mannequin), and a genuinely enjoyable chat. Without further ado, Make Your Exit by the rhythm section.

Describe your sound in five words
Two Mikes, Steve, Jeff, Oliver.

Describe for me the best show you’ve ever played
Steamwhistle Unsigned in March – we were really feeling the love of the city. They really do treat bands well. The best we’ve played was at the El Mocambo (this fall). Internally, as a band, there was a great vibe on stage. The chemistry was great.

What’s the absolute best reaction you could get to your music?
People singing along. When people know the lyrics to your songs.

If you could score a film, which film would you choose? (Or… make one up).
Probably with friends who are making movies, doing something with someone you know. Writing music with the movie, rather than having them so separate.

Which five cities would you include in a fantasy tour?
Well let’s go big. San Francisco, Paris, London, Tokyo, Sao Paolo.

Strawberry Fields or Penny Lane?
Strawberry Fields.

Where/what does your name come from?
It comes from a discussion between Jeff and our old drummer. It’s about putting yourself in a situation where you’re happy, if you’re not content with what you’re doing. Find an exit, Make Your Exit.

How do you take your eggs?
Mike: For the record, it should be noted that I am a great cooker of eggs.

Eggs Michael Dellios
-One whole egg, cooked for seven minutes (soft boiled)
-Peel the shell off
-Place on toasted rye bread with butter
-Cut it up and add Frank’s red hot

Steve: Me too. I make egg in a hole.

What is your ideal rainy day activity?
Mike: Cleaning. Cleaning and fixing. I adjusted my door last time and painted a railing that my dog had chewed.
Steve: Walking. I love it, actually.

What is your favourite childhood television series?
Mike: The Muppet Show
Steve: Today’s Special. Every time I go to the Bay…

What’s your best concert(-going) experience?
Mike: The Eagles with my parents, eight months ago. These guys are all over 60 and they killed it. Those guys are lifers.
Steve: Bon Iver at Lee’s Palace.

Where is your favourite place to sing?
Mike: Car.
Steve: Car.
Mike: Actually, I went on a bike ride with my niece in a baby seat and made up a song about what we were biking by. It was the best bike ride I’ve ever been on.

You have $1000 and ten minutes to spend it. What do you do?
Mike: Buy the bar a round.
Steve: Get on Craigslist and find the best van for $1000.
