“The well-being of women determines the well-being of society.”
~Gloria Steinem

How does violence against women drive global insecurity?

WOMAN, the new VICELAND series led by feminist Gloria Steinem, examines that very question.

WOMAN examines the impact of sexual violence in the DRC; the epidemic of femicides in El Salvador; the prevalence of sexual assault in the U.S. military; the devastating effect on American society of incarcerating mothers; and a special episode produced by Oscar-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy on how the rise of extremism in Pakistan is both rooted in and reflected by violence towards women.

The weekly half-hour series will tell the stories of both women and men on the frontlines of fighting gender-based violence. WOMAN airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT (check local listings) beginning May 10 on VICELAND.
