What’s One Easy, Healthy Thing You Can Do Every Day? Drink Lemon Water.

The other day someone asked me, if I could recommend ONE thing to make her healthier, what would it be?  I proceeded to blab for a good five minutes about 15 different things, and didn’t really answer the question.  Since I’ve already told you about my Smoothie Ritual, another habit that I think is an EASY and AWESOME addition to your daily routine is drinking a big glass of warm lemon water upon rising every morning.  Here’s why:

  1. It maximizes the function of enzymes found in your liver, which is your main detoxifying organ, therefore helping detoxify your body.
  2. It will help stimulate digestion and keep things moving so your body can eliminate toxins.
  3. It alkalizes the body (while lemon juice is acidic, the minerals have an alkalizing effect on the body).
  4. It provides a nice dose of Vitamin C & Antioxidants for the day.

So give it a try and who knows, you might even be able to replace your coffee with lemon water!

Note: Don’t use the packaged lemon juice.  Use the juice of ½ a fresh lemon.

    shedoesthecity I do this trick quite often. Using other fruits too like strawberries mixed with mint is also a winner.
