You’re always bored with your own closet, so shop in someone else’s

By Taylor Berry

Having college roommates was great because you’d get to steal their clothes. Their trash was your treasure—and that’s the notion behind MYEXCLOSET, a new buy-and-sell online boutique situated in Montreal and Toronto.

The idea behind the site, founded by Toronto ladies Hayley Dineen and Cassie Cowie, is that you can sell your previously-loved items that you’re no longer infatuated with, and also buy adorable clothing at a steal of a price that others have been ready to part with.

There are used and brand-new pieces, designer clothing and great vintage finds. Note-worthy brand-name steals include 7 For All Mankind jeans for $35, and a gorgeous pink and yellow Marc Jacobs silk dress for $100. Or, let MYEXCLOSET do the vintage store hunting for you: there is an adorable vintage white floral mini-dress on the site for only $8, and a high-waisted leather skirt for only $12. These pieces are hand-picked for their style, which sure beats hunting through the hangers at Winners.

In addition to used fashions, site co-founder Hayley Dineen also sells some of her beautiful handmade jewelry on the website, including hair clips, earrings and necklaces.

Since the company is local, shipping costs are pretty low. Plus, MYEXCLOSET offers clothing pickups in both Toronto and Montreal, which makes selling your exes on the online boutique convenient.
