Is anyone planning to watch the Super Bowl this weekend? I’m not a huge fan of watching sports, but would consider attending a Super Bowl viewing if it included a decked out caesar bar. That would be fun.

If you’re looking to up your caesar game, I highly recommend making the switch from Mott’s Clamato to Walter All-Natural Craft Caesar Mix. Walter is a thicker, better tasting premium mix that is locally made and oh so delicious. Unlike other caesar mixes on the market that include tons of MSG, high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavours, Walter contains 100% all natural ingredients. It’s got real lemon juice instead of citric acid, fresh tomatos off the vine, a perfect blend of seasonings and real clam juice instead of dehydrated clam broth.

So now you’ve got your craft caesar mix, but what will you use to rim your drink? Most of the caesar salts out there also contain MSG and artificial flavours. Barberian steak spice makes a beautiful caesar rim. You can get it at select Loblaws and at the restaurant in Toronto. I garnished my caesar with cheese, an olive, a lemon wedge and a pickled red pepper. This is where it’s fun to play around. Switch it up. Keep it simple. Put a tiny hamburger on it. The world is your oyster. In fact, you could even garnish it with an oyster. Go nuts. I made this caesar with vodka, but you can also experiment with using tequila or gin.

You can pick up Walter and the glass in this post at BYOB Cocktail Emporium. Walter is also on the menu at tons of great restaurants and bars in the city. Check out the full list here.
