1. When did you know you were going to be a designer? I was making Phat pants for Ravers in the 90’s, and I thought??? hrm, I can make a living doing this! So here I am, making phat pants for phat women in the new millennium. The parties get better, and the women stay the same.

2. Where do you find inspiration for your collections? My new stomping grounds, Queen west, is home to an eclectic bunch of people. I see women wearing mens clothing and vise versa. I decided to show a generally genderless, eco friendly collection. I guess i believe in our planet more than I believe in gender.

3. What are the 3 skills you require most to do your job well? I need to be observant of the people around me, I need to smile and nod, and I need to cut and sew like a mad man.

4. What do you love most about your career? I’m the boss, I work at my own pace, (which isn’t always beneficial) and I get to be as creative as I want all day long. I also love that I’m in a position to inspire young people to do the same. Creativity = Evolution

5. Describe your label in three words. Loud, clean, and eco friendly

6. Describe your personal style in three words. there are no three words to sum it up, I dress like a modern day super hero. Always the villain, they get the best colour palette.

7. What is the biggest challenge you face working in Canada? I’ve only ever worked in Canada, we can get away with a lot here. I’ve been able to do what I like, I dont see why it would be different than anywhere else? I guess people spend more money on fashion in other countries, but I don’t worry about money when I design, my business partner does.

8. If you could change one thing about the Canadian fashion industry what would it be? I would put Jennie Becker and Robin Kay in charge of everything!

9.What designers have influenced you? Carlie Wong, Nicholas Guesquiere, and of course Lee Mcqueen.

10. What trends are you most excited about for Fall/Winter 08? Hrm, I guess??? It takes more than a trend to excite me.

11. Who would you love to see wearing your duds? Uma Therman, Lucy Liu, Lori Petty, Mila Jovovich and Beth Ditto.

12. Describe your perfect day. Where would you go? What would you do? What are your favourite spots in Canada – coffee shops, boutiques, fabric stores – we want to know!

I would wake up in Fernie BC, Blaze, then hit the slopes. Ski off into my Hot tub, then go down to the Royal Hotel and Dance the night away.
