By going to his site alone  you can tell Sebastien Grainger has lived it up this past decade. He blew us away first in Death From Above but now he’s taken shit to a whole new level with Sebastian Grainger and the Mountains – a new album – that just so happens to also be in our Top Ten Albums of 2009. Read below about his first tattoo, getting booted from the bar and fun in Fargo and check out his new video I HATE MY FRIENDS.

Sebastien Grainger’s Top Ten Parties of The Decade

1. My 21st Birthday Party, April 11 2000
This was spent in my brothers kitchen eating soup.  My sister in law bought me a CD by a French singer named M.  I loved that CD.  I had just moved from Montreal.  I was depressed.

2. My 22nd Birthday Party, April 11 2001
I had just met Jesse whom i would later form Death From Above with. For my birthday he gave me an old pair of his pants with a photocopied photo-booth strip of himself.

3. My 23rd Birthday Party, April 11 2002
Blank.

4. My 24th Birthday Party, April 11 2003
For my twenty-fourth i took the subway to Etobicoke and got my first tattoo (“1979” on my forearm), by a real cool dude i went to high-school with. http://www.hollingdraketattoos.com/

5. My 25th Birthday Party, April 11 2004
Blank.

6. My 26th Birthday Party, April 11 2005
I played a Death From Above 1979 show in Saskatoon on the 10th, and partied into the morning with some friends and some weird people. Scott from the band Controller.Controller almost got kicked out of the shitty bar we were at for making me balloon animals. (he clowns).  The next morning i flew to Toronto to visit an old friend who’s father had just passed away.

7. My 27th Birthday Party, April 11 2006
Went to Terroni with my girlfriend and she made me a book of coupons for back scratches and things like that.

8. My 28th Birthday Party, April 11 2007
I think i had a party. I think it was fun.

9. My 29th Birthday Party, April 11 2008
I think i was with my family.  I think it was nice.

10. My 30th Birthday Party, April 11 2009
I spent the morning in a Canadian Tire parking lot in Winnipeg, then did some laundry, then drove to Fargo, ND with Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains and Flash Lightnin’.  Drank margeritas and ate mediocre mexican then got wasted at the Holiday Inn.  It was pretty special.
