Thank you to everyone who came out last night to join us at Gap on Bloor, which was glowing with bright holiday colours in every shade. I mean, who was it that decreed this season red and green? NOT ANYMORE!

Shedoesthecity writers got cozy in neon Studio Sweaters (you couldn’t miss us!) while the musicians from Jane’s Party stuck to Gap classics. They looked ever so handsome in plaid shirts and cardis.

Guests relaxed with a Mill Street beer and no one was ashamed to chase down the man passing around Paulette’s Originial Donuts and ask for a second, maybe third, helping. Mmmm….dooooonnnutts. And beer. No one complained.

Ladies rode the escalator to get manis from LuxSpa while Bobby Kimberley from Young Lions Music Club kept us swaying and step dancing on street level.

Although we most enjoyed Instagraming pics of ourselves in fun toques with pom-poms, the highlight of the evening was definitely the in-store performance by Jane’s Party. Gathered in a horseshoe, we all had perma-smiles as the band played on. If you caught them jamming in Trinity Bellwoods this summer, you know what we’re talking about; positively dreamy.

It was a terrific way to get our holiday shop on, fall into a festive mood and mingle with friends, old and new. With cheery bright colours and warm folky tunes, Gap last night was a happy place to be. I don’t know about you, but we felt the loooove.

Of course, we were also delighted that our party made the big screen in Times Square. Not to brag* but pretty sure we’re the only holiday party in town that gets a live broadcast in Manhattan.

*Totally bragging.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
