For anyone out there who sews, you are probably tired of the same old tomato pin cushion (why the hell did they come up with a tomato as the standard?!). This craft unites your hatred for the tomato as well as a distaste that you may perhaps have for an Ex. If for some reason you don’t have any ghosts from dating past, like you’re a nun, then I’m sure you can find a friend that does. James Spader you broke my heart and I will never take you back again! (unless you ask really really nicely)
Materials:
Felt
Paper
Stuffing
Fabric marker
Thread
Scissors
Hand needle
Step 1: Draw half of the figure onto a piece of paper. Fold the paper in half and cut out the figure (ending up with a perfectly symmetrical pattern).
Step 2: Fold felt in half. Pin the pattern onto felt. Trace around the pattern with a fabric marker. Remove the paper and cut the figure out a ¼” away from the drawn line, for seam allowance. Pin the felt pieces together and sew along the drawn line, keeping an opening of approximately 2” (for stuffing).
Step 3: Trim the extra seam allowance, except at the opening. Turn the figure right side out. Poking out arms, legs and head with a chopstick or end of a paintbrush.
Step 4: Stuff. Start with the appendages, using the stick to poke the stuffing in tight. When finished, hand sew the opening closed.
Step 5: Decorate and adorn. Use anything that may remind you, or your friend, of your ex-significant other: tie, hair piece, cigarette, inability to commit, etc.
Step 6: Stick your pins in and let the healing begin.
