May 12th-19th ReelAbilities Film Festival @ various locations. RAFF is the largest film festival in North America, with 14 festivals taking place in cities across the U.S. and now Canada, dedicated to promoting the awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories, and art of people with disabilities and deaf people. 6 pm “The Temptation of Saint Anthony” Opening Reception @ Cooper Cole, 1134 Dupont St. A solo exhibition from Vikky Alexander that reintroduces a selection of photographic works that were completed while she was living in New York in the early 1980s. Moving there from Canada, she became the youngest member of a group of artists that included Barbara Kruger, Sherrie Levine and Richard Prince, who were using photography to demystify codes and systems of representation through appropriation and quotation.
