Laurier Avenue welcomes a lovely new-comer into the Mile-End shopping mix: Yoga-à-Porter has opened its doors, offering elegant yoga and lifestyle clothing and accessories in a bright new location. With an emphasis on the comfortable and the versatile, this boutique and yoga studio provides an alternative to lower quality and logo-ridden athletic brands, taking costumers “from the studio to the street with little to no effort,” and arguably, without anyone being able to tell the difference.

Yoga-à-Porter offers an unexpectedly large and fashionable variety of clothing styles that one likely won’t find at other yoga-oriented shops around town. Seriously, Second Denim yoga jeans are the new (and vastly more flattering and practical) jeggings. Made in Montreal, these unique denim blend skinny and boot cut jeans hug and tuck in all the right places with high waistlines and dark shades. Tunic dresses, camisoles and beautiful cotton blouses (by Canadian, American and European brands) are among the highly feminine and pretty top halves that the shop also supplies in soft colours and fabrics.

Of course, traditional yoga leggings and tank-tops are also on hand to complement the interesting studio classes Yoga-à-Porter offers from Monday to Friday. Yoga Ballet and Shape-Up Yogalates are among the seven classes that, with a drop-in fee of only $18 and a one month unlimited pass for $150, are so much more appealing than the expensive beginner-yoga snooze-fests running rampant in Montreal at the moment.

Curious? Stop in for a visit on November 25 for Yoga-à-Porter’s Opening Gala at 7pm!
