9:30pm. Barn Burner Album Release Show @ La Sala Rossa, 4848 St-Laurent. Blue Skies Turn Black presents the hometown album launch of Barn Burner’s newest work – ‘BANGERS II: Scum Of The Earthocal’. Right, a little metal never hurt nobody. Barn Burner will be joined by Holy Divide and Trung Hoa. $10.

FRIDAY JULY 1

11am. 34th Annual Canada Day Parade @ St Catherine Street West, from du Fort to Place du Canada. The parade ends as most things should: with cake! As well, head down to the Quays of the Old Port for a plethora of Canada-themed activities, shows and at 10:30pm (weather permitting), fireworks!

SATURDAY JULY 2

12pm. Punk Piknic @ Parc Jean-Drapeau, Île Sainte-Hélène. In the same location as the summer-weekly Piknic Electronik, the 4th annual Punk Piknic dance party is happening Saturday for those with alternative music tastes. Until 7pm. And don’t miss the assortment of regional punk bands playing the after show at Death House (670 St-Remi)! $2.

SUNDAY JULY 3

9pm. Holy Crap! @ Le Bull, 2170 St-Catherine W. Holy Crap! is a comedy evening during which heckling is encouraged and hoped for! One of our favourite comics, Eman, headlines the evening along with Jessica Salomon, Paul Ash, Keith Waterfield and more. Free.
