8pm. Montreal Burlesque Festival @ Club Soda, 1225 St-Laurent. Treat yourself to a night of cabaret entertainment (or three nights – whatever you’re into!) at the third annual Montreal Burlesque Festival. FRIDAY AUGUST 26

10:30pm. Friday Night Hootenanny @ MainLine Theatre, 3997 St-Laurent. Fact: the time is ripe for a good ol’ late summer hoedown, before the leaves start a-fallin’! SATURDAY AUGUST 27

1pm.Open Studio Space @ Ste-Emilie Skillshare, 3942 Ste-Emilie. Studio space is notoriously hard to come by in Montreal (for a fair price, that is) which is why the Ste-Emilie Skillshare opens its doors each Saturday afternoon, offering a dark room, sewing room, screen-printing studio and more to local artists. Bring your MP3 player, a buddy and some snacks, and stop by to check out their facilities. Until 6pm. By donation.

SUNDAY AUGUST 28

2pm. Max Cooper @ Piknic Electronik, Parc Jean-Drapeau. While there are still a few Piknik Electronik Sundays to go this season, this is the last that can be counted among the real months of summer. Make it count, gang! Max Cooper, Mike Perras and Lucie Lebel will make it happen this weekend. Until 9pm. $12.

8:30pm. 4th Edition of Best of Open Mic @ Comedyworks, 1238 Bishop. Come cheer on the best of Montreal’s open mic comics at Comedyworks as they compete for the Best-Of grand title! Hosted by the very-hilarious Eman. $10.
