11am Mondial de la Bière @ Place Bonaventure, 800 De La Gauchetiere West. Montreal’s international beer fest is finally legal, with Mondial de la Bière marking its 18th edition this year. Entry is free and tasting coupons are $1 each, with beer tastings (3-4 ounces of a tasty brew) costing 1 to 5 coupons. 609 beers from 136 breweries around the world will be on offer, including 26 handcraft brews from Quebec. 5pm Citizen Vintage Grand Opening @ 5330 St Laurent. After a year of selling vintage clothing collections in temporary pop-up shops, Citizen Vintage has settled into a permanent storefront on St Laurent. Drop by the opening party for cupcakes, wine, music by Mitz and to preview their new vintage clothing collections for both men and women. Until 8pm.

Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival @ Crescent Street between St Catherine & de Maisonneuve. Crescent Street closes to car traffic as part of Formula One Grand Prix festivities. Meet F1 drivers, participate in “pit shop challenges”, and take in free performances by Fefe Dobson (June 9, 9:30pm), Sloan (June 10, 9:30pm) and Down with Webster (June 11, 9:30pm).

St Laurent Street Fest @ Boulevard St Laurent between Sherbrooke & des Pins. Once again, St Laurent Boulevard will be closed to car traffic for everyone’s favourite 4-day block party. Browse the clothing sales (St Lo’s vintage shops usually have the best sales); munch on street food (pineapple on a stick, anyone?) and watch outdoor performances. Wash it all down with a drink on one of the numerous resto-bar street-side terraces opened especially for the occasion.
