We sacrificed a lot last summer between the Toronto city workers strike and the…tepid weather, but most tragic was undoubtedly the cancellation of the annual Toronto Island concert due to super loud race cars. Thankfully, our streets are no longer stinky and the island will once again be alive with the sounds of Broken Social Scene and friends this Saturday.

You shouldn’t need reasons to attend but if you do, we have plenty. There’s the music of course, and this year boasts a rather impressive lineup of The Beauties, Flash Lightnin’, Zeus, Timbre Timbre, Beach House, Band of Horses, Broken Social Scene, and Pavement – returning to Toronto for the first time in over a decade. There’s the ferry ride, the opportune picnicking, the time well spent with friends, the picturesque sunset…

Tickets cost $57.50 (including ferry transport) and are available at Soundscapes, Rotate This, and Ticketmaster.
