Venus Fest

Music and art are at the heart of Venus Fest, an event that spotlights emerging musicians and local artisans. This gender-expansive and femme-forward festival is free for all, and attendees can expect electronic sets, eye-catching visuals, impressive textile installations, and laid-back activities at the Restoration Zone (for those who want to catch a break in between performances). The Sankofa Trilogy

To celebrate the 20-year anniversary of The Sankofa Trilogy, d’bi.young anitafrika is putting on three different plays that will run for three weeks at The Theatre Centre. blood.claat, benu, and word! sound! powah! all star anitafrika, and they follow three generations of Sankoka womyn as their journeys traverse the intersections of gender, race, class, and cultural legacy. Generation Women x aaniin 

This lively literary salon brings Indigenous women together to pass on wisdom to each other. Six storytellers representing six generations share stories that will make you laugh, cry, and feel seen.
